Tasmanians Talking aims to facilitate friendship and social networks between established communities and new emerging communities via a series of activities. The project is managed by the University of Tasmania (UTAS) and supported by DIAC. The project involves four key elements that give residents, government agencies and community organisations the opportunity to share their experiences, culture and wisdom while discussing local issues of mutual concern (Read more about the project activities)
The core element of the project comprises series of Community Dialogues that will be run in twelve Tasmanian neighbourhoods across six local council districts.
The project offers all participants the opportunity to better understand the experiences and cultures of other participants and to gain an insight into their own experiences and culture. Through this dialogue process all those participating in the project can work together to build stronger and safer communities based on mutual understanding and common experience.
